Dreaming of a House of Your Own?

Call Susan Galloway, Coldwell Banker Traditions

Dear Susan,

Thank you for your outstanding service in helping us find a new home. You were very knowledgeable of the market and you went above and beyond to help make our house hunting a success. Rick, the kids, and I enjoyed working with you.

With us building in Williamsburg and still living in Dallas, it was reassuring to know that someone in Virginia had our best interest at heart. We declined a monetary gift from one of the military moving services because you were not on their Realtor listing. We would do it all again because the service that we received from you is priceless.

Your patience, pleasant personality, and professionalism meant to world to us. We would recommend you in an instant to our military friends relocating to the area.

Sincerely,
Rick and JaNeice Chambers

My name is Mark Barnes and I have been in the US Air Force for 16 years. Anyone who has had to relocate a family of 5 with small children know how stressful that can be; finding daycare, getting registered for school, and of course finding a place for your family to live. Add into that equation the fact that we were coming back from Germany and you can imagine the stress level.

My family and I were blessed to be put in touch with Susan Galloway! Susan called us in Germany immediately started to ease some of that stress. She spoke to us in great length about our family, our needs, and made us feel like we were going to be taken care of. She walked us through the home buying process and gave us valuable information so that we could make informed decisions. Susan put us in touch with professionals at each crossroad that we came to (mortgage financing, home inspectors, and title companies). This was all before we ever left Germany.

Once we arrived in Virginia, we contacted Susan. She had already devised a plan of attack. She had found a few houses, but was really excited about one in particular. By our lengthy conversations she believed this house to be "THE ONE." As we arrived at the house all we could do was smile. We went in and looked around and were sold. Susan put our words together and produced a house to match.

It didn't stop there though; throughout the closing process, she made our home buying process seamless and stress free. Susan is not only great at what she does, she also cares about your family.

Thank you Susan for everything!
Mark and Judy Barnes

Hi. My name is Mike Hoffpauir, and I am a Colonel in the US Army.

Yesterday, 2 September 2003, my wife and I closed on our first house. That's right, our first house after 25 years of my being in the Army. Let me share with you my story of how important our buyer-agent, Susan Galloway, was to this process. It is, in short, a glowing tribute to her competence, patience, flexibility, and understanding as an agent...but more important, as one of the most warm-hearted persons we know.

In June of 2003 the Army notified me that I was being reassigned to the Norfolk, VA area. Since I'd worked in Norfolk in the mid-90s, I knew it was a beautiful area with loads to offer families so my wife and I decided we'd try to buy a house. I began scanning the internet, whereupon I bumped into Susan's web site. Little did I know how fortuitous this event would be.

I sent Susan an email, and she called a day later. She immediately struck me as being knowledgeable of and sensitive to the peculiar needs of military families. After talking to a handful of other brokers in the area, I quickly decided that Susan was the right person to represent my wife and I in our quest to become homeowners.

Susan prepared us well for what was to come. She sent us many-an-informative email covering various phases of the home-buying process. I bought several books that, in hindsight, I did not need to purchase because Susan's emails contained all the details and information we needed. Susan also called us on several occasions (long distance to Germany) in order to be sure we understood what she was sending us. Oh, before I forget, Susan sent us examples of the types of forms we would work with during the process, which let us read them at our own leisure instead of having to digest them while applying for a loan or during closing.

My family and I left Germany in mid-July and we took a well-earned month of leave in Texas with relatives. During that time I flew to Norfolk where Susan worked with me for an entire week in order to find our "dream home." This is where her patience and knowledge of the area paid off. Day 1 of our search was a complete bust, but it gave Susan a good chance to understand what my wife and I wanted in a home. On Day 3 we hit the jackpot. Susan pounced on the opportunity like a Tiger. Although other people were already looking at the home I bought, Susan's savvy recommendations and quick action let me secure the deal for our home without getting into a price war with other would-be buyers.

In sum, Susan Galloway has my highest possible recommendations to anyone contemplating buying a home in the Norfolk area. Prospective buyers in the military should not hesitate to sign Susan on to their team.
